Improv Classes Start July 6th!
If you’ve ever seen the TV Show, “Whose Line is it Anyway?,” and you wondered, “How to they DO that?,” you’re in luck! Starting July 6th, Improv Chattanooga will be offering an “Improv 101 - Intro to Improv Comedy” workshop at Barking Legs!
Taught by Improv Chattanooga co-founder, and author of “Improv: Your Key to the Multiverse,” Steven Disbrow, this class will teach you everything you need to know to get started improvising.
Improv is a great skill to have. Not only does it help with things like Public Speaking and overcoming stage fright, it also helps you to be more open to new experiences in your everyday life.
This workshop will last 8 weeks. Starting on Tuesday, July 6th, we'll meet weekly at Barking Legs Theater on Dodds Avenue, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Over the course of the workshop, you'll learn the "rules" of Improv and when and how to break them. You'll also learn how to play short form Improv "games," just like the ones you've seen on "Who's Line Is It Anyway."
Then, for the 8th session, you'll put on a showcase performance where you'll get to show your friends and family everything you've learned during the workshop!
You'll also get two copies of the book, "Improv: Your Key to the Multiverse!" One to use in class, and one to give to a friend!
If you would like to participate, here's what you need to know:
